JBM-HH Unveils Upgraded Fort Myer Fitness Center
Source: Army.mil
The Fort Myer Fitness Center at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall reopened on July 23 after nearly two months of renovations, featuring new, state-of-the-art equipment and a refreshed design. The project, initiated in February, was guided by JBM-HH Commander Col. Tasha Lowery, Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Fisher, and Phillip Kitzko, with insights from Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Mingus. The renovations, which cost around $750,000, focused on enhancing functional fitness to better meet Soldiers’ needs, with a new floor for joint protection, modern strength equipment, and a redesigned entry.
The 11,000-square-foot facility now includes advanced rack systems, heavy weights, and cardio machines. During renovations, racquetball courts were repurposed to maintain workout space. Future plans include further upgrades to the upper deck and additional equipment.
The center remains open 24/7 to authorized military personnel, retirees, and DoD civilians, with on-site attendants available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Access outside of these hours requires a programmed CAC card.

Jodie Sweetin Fires Back: A Nuanced Take on Candace Cameron Bure’s Olympics Comments
Source: IMDb
The Tanner sisters are clashing once more. On Monday, Jodie Sweetin took to Instagram Stories to seemingly shade her TV sister, Candace Cameron Bure, over Bure's comments on the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
Bure, among other conservative viewers, criticized a segment featuring drag queens that they mistook for a reinterpretation of The Last Supper. In reality, the performance was meant to celebrate the Greek feast of Dionysus. Sweetin, in her posts, mocked the misunderstanding and defended the drag queens, suggesting that Bure’s critique stemmed from a lack of historical knowledge.
Sweetin also shared educational content about Dionysus, countering Bure’s view that the performance was inappropriate. Despite Bure’s insistence that the explanation didn’t justify the performance, Sweetin's posts hinted at a more informed perspective on art and history. The sisters' online exchange highlights a renewed rift, with Sweetin showcasing a deeper understanding of the referenced art and history.
