HAIR AND BODY CARE
Revitalize and Rejuvenate: Hair Health Strategies for the 40+ Age Group
Source: Healthline
As you age, increased self-confidence and life milestones await, but so do physical changes, especially to your hairline.
Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Joyce Imahiyerobo-Ip notes that aging often brings hair issues like shedding, dryness, fragility, and graying. These changes can be overwhelming alongside other menopause symptoms. To combat this, establishing an age-specific hair-care routine is crucial for maintaining healthy hair.
Hormonal shifts in your 40s, primarily the decline in estrogen and progesterone, affect hair health. Reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Lucky Sekhon explains that these changes, occurring during perimenopause, can lead to irregular cycles, mood swings, and hair thinning due to reduced estrogen levels, which affects hair growth and strength.
Dr. Imahiyerobo-Ip highlights that hormonal hair loss is common during this time. Lower estrogen and increased androgens can make hair finer, thinner, and more brittle. Additionally, the scalp can become drier and more sensitive.
To support healthy hair, a balanced lifestyle is key. Prioritize a diet rich in vitamins and minerals, and incorporate stress-reducing practices like yoga. Staying hydrated and well-rested also helps. For targeted treatment, minoxidil (Rogaine) is effective for improving hair density and promoting growth, though it requires long-term use. Consult your healthcare provider or dermatologist before starting any new treatment to ensure it's right for you.

The Bold New Trend: Why Copenhagen and New York's Fashionistas Are Embracing Nearly-Naked Looks
Source: Fashionista
This season, the fashion elite are elevating their nearly-naked look with a key summer trend: lace. From capri pants to see-through skirts, lace is everywhere, adding a feminine and playful touch to wardrobes. Unlike past iterations, this season’s lace trend is versatile and chic, often worn with minimal layering, though there are plenty of modest ways to incorporate it.
Alexa Chung has already embraced the trend, pairing a lace-hemmed skirt with an oversized shirt and a silver bag for a relaxed yet stylish look. Lace adds texture and pairs well with unexpected fabrics like leather or denim. This boho-inspired trend is expected to continue into autumn, layered over darker fabrics and styled with richer hues.

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) and Guardian Media Group have appointed Tara Bohn and Lindsay Poulton to spearhead their new creative partnership. Announced last year, this strategic collaboration gives SPE exclusive rights to adapt Guardian journalism for both scripted and unscripted content.
Tara Bohn, formerly with Amazon Studios, steps in as head of global content development. She has worked on notable series like "Reacher" and "Carnival Row" and has collaborated with SPE on projects such as "The Good Doctor." Lindsay Poulton joins as editorial director for film and TV at the Guardian, while continuing her role as head of documentaries.
Matthew Justice, EVP for U.K. and Europe at Sony Pictures Television, praised the appointment, highlighting Bohn's proven track record and Poulton's journalistic expertise. “Their combined experience and The Guardian's rich archive promise to drive this collaboration forward with exciting new projects,” he said.
