The waste problem is also alarming: every second, the equivalent of one dumper truck’s worth of textiles is either landfilled or incinerated. Worse yet, textile waste is projected to rise by 60% from 2015 to 2030. The issue of waste colonialism exacerbates this, as wealthier nations ship their fashion waste to developing countries, where it contributes to toxic garbage piles.

The fashion industry urgently needs sustainable, climate-friendly solutions that minimize waste, reduce land use, and promote long-term environmental health.
